The Curran Family Foundation was incorporated on April 11, 2003, as a nonprofit charitable private foundation with a mission, “To positively impact the lives of children and young adults.” The Foundation was created and funded by its Founder, Michael G. Curran to provide leadership and financial resources for inspired philanthropy that will directly impact the lives of children and young adults.

The Foundation has been the lifelong journey of its Founder and his family to turn the principals of business success into the principals of human significance. In order to distribute limited resources, donations made by the Foundation have historically been focused on nonprofit partners in Wake County, NC that are aligned with the Foundation’s mission. In October of 2021, Michael retired and moved to Lakewood Ranch, Florida with his wife Robyn and hired the Foundation’s first full-time Executive Director, Travis Williams. Over the next four (4) years, the Foundation continued to support nonprofit partners in Wake County, N.C. and developed a business plan to open a new chapter of giving in Manatee County Florida with an emphasis in the Lakewood Ranch community beginning in 2026.

Successful philanthropy requires a high level of accountability and stewardship of financial and human resources. In order to optimize the impact of every dollar, the Foundation collaborates with nonprofit partners to leverage financial resources and knowledge in pursuit of its Mission. We are excited about maintaining support for N.C. nonprofit partners and expanding our Mission in Manatee County in 2026. We know that the children we positively impact today, or don’t impact today will become the leaders or burdens of our communities tomorrow.

Please join in with the Foundation to positively impact the lives of children and young adults today, who will become the leaders of our communities tomorrow.

What We Support

We offer programs and support nonprofit partners who offer programs that positively impact the lives of children and young adults. The three (3) types of programming we focus on include:

Education

From scholarships to enrichment programs, we open doors to learning and create opportunities for lifelong success.

Athletics

Sports build character and confidence. We sponsor youth athletic programs that teach teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Health

Healthy children have brighter futures. We fund initiatives that support physical and emotional well-being from an early age.
